Lexus IS250 Sport Manual Mark Levinson
My ‘06 Lexus IS250 Sport is up for grabs. I will truly miss this car, as I have always had a soft spot for them. It has been an excellent daily ever since I purchased it in June. It is perfect for longer road trips too. Only selling due to recently acquiring a new project car and already having an E46 M3 (pictured and very much not for sale). Unfortunately, having 3 cars in total doesn’t make sense in my current circumstances.
This is the desirable 6 speed manual petrol version with the outstanding Mark Levinson 14 surround speaker package. This car benefits from the Sport trim which adds rare 18 inch wheels and a tasteful rear lip on the boot among others.
Full service history and a folder of invoices, HPI clear, 2 keyfobs, V5C in my name, MOT 17 Feb 2022, 105822 miles. Oil+filter changed in April this year.
The 2.5 litre V6 4GR-FSE motor is smooth and is happy to rev (nearly 7k redline!), whilst still delivering 30-40 mpg. Clutch has been replaced. Gearbox is tight and feels excellent. Shifts are also very smooth and satisfying. No warning lights. Sport package suspension is actually very comfy, driving long distance is a breeze in this. The front discs and pads have been replaced with Brembo parts in my ownership and only just finished their break-in period, rears have plenty of life left. Recent alternator change too.
Interior is in nice, clean shape. Alcantara seats, no rips etc. Automatic dual zone aircon works beautifully.
This car comes with many optional features: backup camera, front and rear parking sensors, heated seats, automatic wipers and headlights, electronic memory seats, electronic foldable mirrors which can dip in reverse, 4 electronic windows, autodimming mirror, keyless entry. Everything works.
The paintwork could do with some TLC. There is no rust anywhere, but there are some imperfections and marks in the paintwork, consistent with the age and mileage. Small indentation near left rear door, not especially noticeable.
Muffler delete carried out by previous owner. No drone at any speed and the exhaust note is (to my surprise) decent. The car is only loud when you want it to be and normally is rather civilised, especially with the windows up. The exhaust mounts could do with being replaced.
I have to say the second gen IS250 is hard to beat at its price point. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice runaround. Feel free to ask any questions and schedule a test drive!
